This summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to work at qBraid dually as a Quantum Software Engineer and a Quantum Advocate. ? In my role, I gained the opportunity to contribute significantly to qBraid's technical innovations in the quantum computing software industry as well as manage corporate and community engagements to further grow the company. During my internship, I helped qBraid with several core developments. Here are some highlights: ? Wrote and deployed large-scale API extensions, creating the structure to add four new quantum computers (trapped-ion and superconducting) to the qBraid suite of devices, building capability to support a new cloud quantum computing service. ? Integrated services with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Braket to maintain cloud quantum computer control throughout all development languages, supporting qBraid's goal of building a backend-agnostic SDK. ? Launched kernels and wrote scripts to develop and launch an extensive in-house course builder, in collaboration with QuEra Computing Inc. Engaged in large-scale platform engineering via Kubernetes and Google Cloud Run to ensure stable container orchestration. ? Led large-scale product and community management during the IBM Quantum Challenge and Qiskit Global Summer School—both hosted on qBraid, overseeing and managing a 5,000+ user jump in qBraid's base. ? Oversaw and executed several growth initiatives; connected with 10+ universities (Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, etc.) to establish the "qBraid Network" of undergraduate student quantum organizations; grew several high-profile contracts through hackathon engagements and professorial outreach. Throughout this summer, I had the privilege of enjoying incredible mentorship from the wonderful team at qBraid (who I can't gush enough about!) Many, many thanks to Akash Kant, Kenneth Heitritter, Ryan Hill, and Kanav Setia for the wonderful conversations and guidance over the past few months. I also wanted to extend immense gratitude to my supervisor Ricky Young for your tireless work this summer (and always) and for your wonderful tutelage. In a perfect example of rich collaboration that is unlocking our region's tech capacity, the State of Illinois announced the location of its new quantum campus at the former U.S. Steel South Works plant on the South Side of Chicago and anchored by our wonderful partners at PsiQuantum! It will also be the location of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Quantum Proving Ground that was announced just last week.
