?Sometimes, a little magic goes a long way.? What an incredible evening producing and designing this event for CASA Kane County, with 700 passionate advocates coming together to champion children in foster care. CASA’s mission is powerful—giving a voice to children who have experienced abuse or neglect—and I wanted every aspect of the design to reflect that heart and purpose. At first, I found myself overcomplicating the design, trying to do too much. Then, I stepped back with great collaboration and refocused on what truly mattered: the kids. I took an image from the save-the-date that I loved and transformed it into a simple acrylic graphic, outlined in reflective tape. When the lights hit, it lit up—a subtle yet powerful reminder of why we were all there. This event reinforced something I always come back to: it’s not about the biggest production, the latest tech, or the flashiest effects—it’s about the story you’re telling. And in this case, the story was all about the children. Of course, I couldn’t resist adding a little wow factor at the end of the night—a kabuki drop revealing a hidden lounge, a stunning stage, and a live band. Because sometimes, a little magic goes a long way. ?

Managing all production responsibilities, I found myself caught by marketing, using my iPhone to scout the best camera angles for the upcoming 3-camera shoot.
