A big thank you to MIT Alumni Angels of DC for hosting us last night for a round table featuring some of the best leaders in the #quantum space. Some highlights from the panelists: -Q-Cat's founder, Ronald Walsworth, outlined the different types of #quantum #technology (sensing, materials, communication, and computing) from nearest term to longest term, emphasizing #commercialization, including Q-Cat spinout EuQlid. -Our partner, Quantum Coast Capital's Managing Partner Matthew Cimaglia, discussed the opportunities for those looking to #invest in various quantum technologies and companies. -Kate P. Weber, Head of Governance for Google Quantum AI, emphasized the importance of reauthorizing the National Quantum Initiative (#NQI) and relevant government opportunities for quantum #startups. -IonQ CFO Thomas Kramer provided a great perspective on the #quantumcomputing landscape and opportunities for startups to work with companies like IonQ. -The President of the?University of Maryland,?Darryll Pines, highlighted that?#Maryland?and the?#DMV?region is the "Capital of Quantum," mentioning partners such as?the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Joint Quantum Institute, IonQ, and Quantum Catalyzer (Q-Cat). The conversation was energetic, with thoughtful questions from the audience. It is great to see the awareness of #quantumtechnologies spreading!
