Today, we celebrate a remarkable milestone for my father, Eric Yale Lutz, it’s his 80th Birthday.?? ? My father has been a pioneer and visionary leader in the metro-Detroit real estate community for over 60 years.??As a teenager, his extraordinary drive to be a successful entrepreneur was evident. Waking up before sunrise and hitting the busiest intersections of Detroit selling the New York Times, his drive led him to expand the business by hiring a team of friends. With a piqued interest in the real estate corners, at age 18, he joined Schostak Brothers & Company, Inc. and spent the first 15 years of his career alongside industry legends.?Always the entrepreneur, he later founded his own company, Eric Yale Lutz & Associates, which acquired a significant real estate portfolio throughout the metro-Detroit area.?The portfolio included every asset class imaginable and flourished due to his innovative property renovations and creative marketing strategies.?However, due cycles in real estate, he is most proud of how he handled those downtimes. I was fortunate to join the company in 1999 at age 29 and learned priceless lessons on how to build a company from the ground up.?Together we developed a successful mortgage banking company, Q10 | Lutz Financial Services, assisting the new generation of developers in financing their properties.?With a strict rule to not compete with clients, we acquired properties out of state, which at different times spanned over 10 different states. As a kind and selfless individual, his efforts to mentor friends, associates, acquaintances, and strangers created a fanbase that is unparallel.
