#PyxisProud of?Bobby Clark, who leads our policy, government relations, and advocacy practice, for presenting at last week's?Scripius?PBM Summit! He had the opportunity to dive into one of the most pressing issues in healthcare: ongoing policy reforms concerning drug prices and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs). With 2024 shaping up to be a pivotal year, it’s clear that both federal and state-level reforms are on the horizon, and the outcomes could significantly impact how we think about #drugpricing and the role transparent #PBMs play in the healthcare ecosystem. We're encouraged by the important conversations being led by thoughtful partners and industry leaders like?Scripius?who are focused on making prescription drugs more affordable and accessible while maintaining innovation. Looking forward to continuing this work and helping our clients navigate the evolving policy environment. That's a wrap. Congress is heading home to gear up for the contentious #2024Elections, and they won't be returning to Washington until the middle of November. This week, the House and Senate did reach an agreement to fund the government through a continuing resolution that extends until Dec. 20, 2024. While a?government shutdown has been averted (for now), Appropriators will have their work cut out for them when they return to D.C. after Election Day. Will Congress fund the government for Fiscal Year 2025 through an Omnibus Package or will Republicans reject that proposal? Can policymakers push through any final healthcare bills (drug pricing, PBM reform, telehealth) during this "lame-duck period"? These discussions and answers to those questions hinge on the outcome of the November elections. Stay tuned, as we'll have you covered in the coming weeks with everything you need to know as we close out 2024! https://lnkd.in/emNJM2zH

Last week, our own Yuri Velasquez had the exciting opportunity to attend the Research!America: Discovery. Innovation. Health. 2024 National Health Research Forum in Washington, D.C.! The Forum was an inspiring platform for ideas and innovation, bringing together federal officials, patient advocates, and academics to ignite conversations about the future of our nation's health. One quote that struck a chord with Yuri came from Dr. Monica Bertagnolli, director of The National Institutes of Health: “Fundamental research is critical because it addresses multiple underlying principles that span organic systems and diseases. We need to harness more collaboration and cross-cutting research across disciplines and agencies if we want to deliver more innovative solutions.” We're #PyxisProud to be part of these vital discussions as we all work towards creating #PathwaystoProgress to a more equitable health system in the United States and a healthier world for all. Thank you to Research!America for hosting these important conversations, and let’s keep the momentum going! #RAForum #StraightTalk

ACAP was pleased to join yesterday's "Keep Kids Covered Act" event hosted by?U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor. ? The Act?would extend continuous eligibility to all children enrolled in Medicaid and CHIP aged 0 to 6 and provide 24 months?of continuous coverage for children aged 6 to 19. ? "Ensuring continuous eligibility for people enrolled in Medicaid has been a central priority of ACAP's policy agenda for more than two decades," said ACAP CEO?Meg Murray.?"Representative Castor and Caraveo's introduction of the?Keep Kids Covered Act?builds on the previous work of continuous eligibility for children in Medicaid and sends a clear and simple message: none of our nation’s kids should miss out on needed health care because they don’t have coverage."? ?
