And this is why at Pyx Health, we say that when you solve for loneliness, you solve for so much more. 关于我们
What is Pyx Health? Pyx Health is leading the solution to loneliness and social isolation through technology and human connection. Research has found that loneliness increases mortality rates and annual patient treatment costs at similar rates to many chronic diseases. By combining compassionate technology with timely human interventions, Pyx Health offers patients and healthcare providers an innovative, scalable solution that effectively addresses this U.S. health epidemic. Pyx Health is helping people feel better while lowering costs for employers and healthcare providers. Our Story In 2016, Pyx Health CEO Cindy Jordan watched as a loved one’s physical and mental health declined rapidly from stable to high risk. While caring for them, Cindy learned about gaps in healthcare and the pervasive loneliness and social isolation epidemic affecting vulnerable populations. Frustrated by the lack of care, Cindy vowed to wage a war on loneliness and was determined to create an impactful solution marrying technology and compassionate human interventions; in 2017, the Pyx Health app was born. Today, while Cindy’s work is far from done, 93% of Pyx users report feeling healthier, and health plans have seen significant reductions in costs for Pyx patients. https://pyxhealth.com/?utm_source=LinkedIn+&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=bio

This Diabetes Awareness Month, Pyx Health is shining a light on nonmedical interventions to help members better manage their disease; including a program where participants, on average, saw over a 1-point improvement in HbA1c levels compared to those not enrolled in the program. People with #diabetes often face poorer health outcomes, and while monitoring insulin and A1c levels is vital, they hardly paint a complete picture. Our very own Chief Medical Officer Ashwin Patel, MD PhD collaborated on a recent JMIR Diabetes journal article about technology-enabled peer coaching for diabetes management. In it, the authors investigated a program that matches patients with trained peer coaches to boost motivation for self-management and address social determinants of health barriers, with results showing significant improvements across the board in: Glycemic control Patient engagement Diabetes management plan adherence This Pyx Health program - for diabetes and other chronic conditions -leverages the strength of real, compassionate humans powered by an AI-enabled coaching platform to set members and health plans up for success. "One in five Americans – 80 million people – rely on #Medicaid, and it’s up to us to make sure they get the care they need, no matter what changes or what challenges us." Our leadership team attended the NAMD conference last week and CEO Cindy Jordan came away with some powerful observations.
I’m back from last week’s visit to the National Association of Medicaid Directors conference in D.C. and finally having a minute to take a breath and reflect. Cross country travel and work-life juggling aside, getting to spend time with my Pyx Health team and so many of our clients always fills my cup. Pyx has been immersed in the #Medicaid world since our beginnings, experiencing the ups and downs of recent years along with our health plan clients and the members we collectively serve. Change is all that’s certain, especially with a new administration about to take office. We were all curious going in about the tone of the conference and the outlook from Medicaid leadership given the election and current political climate. The message from the stage was surprisingly neutral (maybe cautious?) – recognizing that what happens in Medicaid going forward is, more than ever, going to be based on what state you live in. There were great updates about the strides that have been made this year and the progress that still needs to be made. Off stage, in the lunch buffet lines, during the afternoon coffee breaks, and in passing between sessions—that's where we heard how deeply passionate and resolute these leaders are about making change happen, as opposed to simply letting it happen to them. It’s these people, day in and day out, who work tirelessly to fight for resources and support for our nation’s most vulnerable people. It’s in these moments of human connection where I know together, we’re all striving to do more for the people who need it most. It’s in these rooms that collaboration, sparks of ingenuity, and innovation come to life, only to take shape once we return to our respective home states. One in five Americans – 80 million people – rely on Medicaid, and it’s up to us to make sure they get the care they need, no matter what changes or what challenges us.
