We’re proud to celebrate Forest Forward and CEO Elizabeth Wattley this Women’s History Month! ?? #WomensHistoryMonth #Leadership #CommunityImpact
Thank you for the awesome feature about our CEO, @dallascitycouncildistrict7! — Today during Women’s History Month, we shine a well-deserved spotlight on Elizabeth Wattley, the President & CEO of @forestforward—a visionary leader transforming South Dallas through arts, education, and economic development. Under Elizabeth’s leadership, Forest Forward has become a catalyst for change, working to revitalize South Dallas by creating access to education, affordable housing, and cultural enrichment. At the heart of this mission is the historic Forest Theater, a cultural landmark that has stood in South Dallas since 1949. Originally built as a premier movie theater, it later became a gathering place for legendary performers and a hub for the community. Over the years, it has remained a symbol of resilience, creativity, and Black excellence. Elizabeth is spearheading a $75 million revitalization project to restore the Forest Theater and turn it into a state-of-the-art performing arts center, educational hub, and economic driver for South Dallas. Her work ensures that this iconic space doesn’t just tell the story of the past, but also creates new opportunities for generations to come. Through Forest Forward, she is not only preserving history but also building a future where South Dallas thrives—with access to the arts, jobs, housing, and resources that drive lasting progress. We celebrate Elizabeth Wattley for her vision, passion, and relentless commitment to uplifting South Dallas!
