how's your eco-empathy? how's your empathy in general? empathy is feeling *with* nature or another human being, stepping our perspective into their lived experience and how they are feeling, emotionally, physically and mentally, about their current state. apathy, also referred to as "indifference," is a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern about something. It includes the suppression of emotions such as concern, fear, excitement, motivation, passion. if we view nature simply as "resources" we might be apathetic toward our own one and only home. if we view our global community simply as "others," we might be apathetic about choices which directly affect their lived experience. let's ride the wave of empathy - professionally and personally, the time is ripe for a tidal wave of empathetic love to soak through humanity ?? ?? ??

"the ocean generates 50% of our oxygen, absorbs 25% of all CO2 emissions and captures 90% of the excess heat generated by human created emissions. it is not just ‘the lungs of the planet’ but also its largest ‘carbon sink’ – a vital buffer against the impacts of climate change. - The United Nations increasing greenhouse gas emissions are and have affected the health of the ocean – warming + acidifying it – causing detriment to life under water and on land, and reducing the ocean’s ability to absorb CO2 and safeguard life on the planet. taking action in our businesses + lives to decarbonize is how we lower our individually created greenhouse gases and assist the ocean. all of our actions (how we plan events, what we eat, what we do with our waste, what we do at our homes, how we get places, ladder up to these impacts). time to take action which supports the ocean, our "lungs" by changing behaviors in our own lives, starting within our organizations and homes. #eventsofpurpose #sustainableonpurpose

Taking action to change behavior relative to your climate impacts directly affects your ability to manage stress, grief or fear relative to the subject.
