As we wrap up Careers in Construction Month, we’re pleased to feature Michael O'Donnell, LEED AP, a Project Director with a background in sports architecture working out of our Florida region. ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????????????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???? ???????? ????????? “I was fortunate to attend architecture school at the The University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) and begin my career as an architect focused on sports architecture. I then switched to the owner’s side of the business, working directly for a sports team for over 13 years. Throughout that time, I was lucky to participate in and lead various aspects that run a professional sports team. By developing close relationships with leaders in different areas—such as Engineering, Facilities, Guest Services, Partnerships, Branding/Marketing, and Security—I was able to learn from real-world events. The wealth of knowledge I gained has shaped my thinking and leads me to ask specific owner-operator questions that go beyond just construction and project management, ultimately influencing the design for the betterment of the owner.” ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ???? ?????? ???????????????????????? ????????????????? “The most rewarding part of working in the construction industry is seeing all the hard work and long hours pay off at the end. I’ve been fortunate to spend most of my career in Sports and Hospitality, and witnessing a happy client or seeing thousands of users interact with the spaces I’ve helped build leaves me speechless at times. Knowing that I was able to shape that experience through owner representation and project management is extremely rewarding.” ????????’?? ?? ?????????????? ??????’???? ???????????????????? ?????????? ???? ?????????? ???????????????? ????, ?????? ??????? “I’m extremely proud of what we’re accomplishing for our client at TMRW Sports. We were initially brought on through a relationship to assist another owner representative in August 2023, which quickly led to us taking over the project in October 2023. Despite facing a significant setback in November that was beyond our control, we earned their trust and continued to partner closely with them to lead the design and construction of a completely new 150,000 SF arena and broadcast studio. With a fantastic team of designers and contractors, we’re on track to transition from challenge to occupancy in just 13 months. This project has been quite a journey, and I’m excited to see broadcast testing start in the next couple of weeks.” As we conclude our features for Careers in Construction Month, we want to express our gratitude to all our team members for their hard work and dedication. The construction industry thrives on the commitment and passion of individuals like Michael, and we look forward to the projects ahead. #CareersInConstructionMonth #ProjectManagement #ConstructionIndustry #PurePM

Our next spotlight during Careers in Construction Month is Cameron Charette, MRED, a Project Manager in our Florida office! ???????? ???????????????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ?? ???????????? ???? ????????????????????????/?????????????? ????????????????????? “Growing up, my father was the head of facilities and construction for Beverly Hospital and Lowell General Hospital in northeast Massachusetts, and my Uncle Mike was a large commercial general contractor in Baltimore, MD. I was always surrounded by blueprints and construction conversations, often tagging along on-site walks. During high school and college, I worked hands-on in demolition, framing, and drywall. That experience made me realize I wanted to pursue a career on the business and ownership side of construction.” ?????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ?? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????? ?????? ??????? “As a Project Manager with PurePM, my days vary, which is one of the best perks of this industry. Some days involve office meetings and blueprint reviews, while others are spent on job sites meeting with clients and contractors to discuss construction progress and upcoming projects.” ?????? ?????? ?????? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? ?????????????? ?????????? ?????? ??????????????, ?????? ???????? ?????????????? ?????? ?????????? ?????? ????????????? “In just under ten years in the industry, I’ve noticed two major changes. First, the construction landscape continuously adapts to market conditions. For a time, traditional retail and quick-service restaurant construction thrived, but then the focus shifted to multi-family, car wash, and self-storage projects. Second, COVID-19 has significantly impacted the industry, placing greater emphasis on lead time management for materials like roofing insulation and electrical transformers. Living in Florida, I’ve seen firsthand the population growth and influx of new businesses over the past five years, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for commercial construction and real estate.” Thank you, Cameron, for sharing your insights and experiences with us! #CareersInConstructionMonth #ProjectManagement #ConstructionIndustry #PurePM

A celebration is in order on the completion of the Chapel renovation project at Saint Joseph’s Villa! We are excited to have contributed to this initiative. A huge shoutout to Kara Swanick and Athena Mulvey, P.E., M.S., MBA on their hard work and commitment to delivering a beautiful space.
Welcome home, Sisters! It was an honor to share in this historic Founder’s Day mass this week with the Sisters of Saint Joseph at the Saint Joseph Villa. The renovated chapel had its first re-commissioning since it was opened in 1963. We welcomed the sisters back into their home chapel this past Tuesday to bless the new altar and celebrate their annual Founder’s Day. I am so grateful to have been part of this wonderful project with Pure Project Management, LLC and our partners at Core States Group (Bernardon, Paul Andrew Sgroi, AIA, LEED AP ), Miller Church Interiors , Delran, The Lighting Practice and others who made this transformation possible.

As part of our ongoing celebration for Careers in Construction Month, meet Gregory Portner, a Project Manager in our Philadelphia office: ???????? ???????????????? ?????? ???? ???????????? ?? ???????????? ???? ????????????????????????/?????????????? ????????????????????? “I’ve always wanted a career where I could make a meaningful impact on my community, leverage my problem-solving skills, and stay active in a hands-on environment. Construction and project management allow me to do just that. The opportunity to collaborate with clients, help them shape a vision, and then turn that vision into reality has been incredibly rewarding. I feel fortunate to have found a path that challenges my leadership, requires people skills, and lets me be a part of building something lasting.” ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ???????? ?????????????????? ???????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ???? ?????? ???????????????????????? ????????????????? “Watching a project evolve from an idea to a finished building or piece of infrastructure is incredibly rewarding. There's a tangible result to all the planning, coordination, and hard work. Construction projects are full of challenges, from tight schedules and budgets to unexpected technical difficulties. Successfully navigating these challenges and delivering a project is extremely fulfilling.” ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????????????????? (??????????????????, ???????? ??????????????????????, ??????.) ?????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???? ???????? ????????? “Growing up in Switzerland, moving across Europe, and eventually settling in the United States exposed me to diverse cultures and ways of thinking. These experiences taught me how to communicate effectively and collaborate with people from all walks of life. In construction, which I see as much a 'people business' as it is about building, this ability to connect with others is invaluable. Whether I'm working with clients, contractors, or teams, building strong relationships and finding solutions through collaboration is at the core of my approach.” Thank you, Gregory, for your insights! Stay tuned for more staff features coming this week and throughout the month. ?? ??
