??? January (1934) ? Did you know that The Campbell's Company’s Chicken Noodle Soup has been around for 91 years? In January 1934, the company debuted the then-called ‘Noodle with Chicken Soup,’ and it sold for between 10 and 12 cents per can. Today, Carrie Anderson (BSChE ’91) serves as executive vice president and CFO at The Campbell’s Company, which employs more than 19,000 employees and is one of the largest processed-food companies in America. Anderson, who also holds an MBA, previously excelled in positions at GM, Delphi Corporation, Dover Printing and Identification, and Integra Life Sciences. Congratulations to David Esteban Bernal Neira, assistant professor of chemical engineering and co-director of the Center for Operations and Optimization in Process Systems (COOPS), on being invited to participate in the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) Second Connections to Sustain Science in Latin America symposium in Lima, Peru. The symposium will take place March 11-13, 2025. At the symposium, Bernal will be presenting his work in Quantum Computing for Engineering applications in Engineering and Artificial Intelligence as part of the research he has completed with his SECQUOIA research group. Sodium Powders for Use as Electrode Additives and Methods of Making and Using the Same Purdue researchers developed a new pre-sodiation technique using sodium powder that can be applied to both anode and cathode materials with minimal modifications to conventional battery making processes.
