We're happy to let folks know that the undergrad MSE program Purdue School of Materials Engineering just was ranked #10 by US News. But what makes us proudest us knowing that this recognition is a result of the hard work and dedication of the faculty and staff working with our students to achieve their goals. Our undergraduates choose a wide valid career paths, and opening those doors is the best recognition the School can have. But we're still excited by getting our first top ten ranking!

Another example of successful industry leaders giving back to our MSE students. Dr.?Mary Lee Gambone, recently retired Senior Fellow of Materials at Rolls Royce, shared her experiences from her early career stages in materials for turbine systems with Purdue’s MSE390 students.?How do you get to be a leader of a global operation??Pay attention to the experiments you do (and those you choose not to do), be safe in the lab (it’s not worth your health to cut corners), and look at your materials and manufacturing supply chain before advocating for a material change.?Thanks Dr. Gambone for taking the time to guide and inspire the next generation of MSEs!

Big thanks to MSE alumni Joseph Muth for stopping by for a coffee break with our students! Steven Walsh, Zora Emmert, and Nick Ostendorf had a great time chatting with him about his work on Nike's innovative running shoe materials and his current journey as a business owner. Always inspiring to see where our alumni go!

On the final day of IR at Purdue, Hexcel Corporation drew a packed room of students! MSE alum Anna V. Walter led an engaging discussion on Hexcel’s cutting-edge composite materials for the aviation industries and many others!

A big thank you to TSMC for speaking in the MSE 390 class! With semiconductors in the spotlight, students were eager to learn how TSMC is leading the way with a green approach to chip manufacturing.

Industrial roundtable was in full swing today. Just some snapshots of a few of the alumni with companies talking to MSE students. Thanks to Haynes International and Kyle Stubbs, Cook Medical and Alexandra Loaiza, Bill Shelley at Wieland Group, Anna V. Walter at Hexcel Corporation and many others I got a chance to at least wave at (I can't cut in those lines of students waiting to talk!). Students, this is where your hard work pays off!
