The international research panel is noon-1:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 22) at the Innovation Forum in the Honors College Hall and Residences Hall North. The panel includes Dharmendra Saraswat, Professor of Agricultural and Biological Engineering; Paul Asunda, Associate Professor of Engineering and Technology Teacher Education in the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation; and Sonak Pastakia, Professor of Pharmacy Practice.

During International Education Week (Nov. 18-22), Purdue’s Office of Global Partnerships and Global Academic Committee recognize four winners of Purdue’s 2024 Outstanding Leadership in Globalization Award. This year’s two faculty winners are Eric Matson, professor of computer and information technology, director of the Center for Robotic Innovation, Commercialization and Education, and co-founder of the?M2M?Lab; and Christopher Lukasik, director of the Fulbright Faculty Awards and associate professor of English. The two staff winners are Juan Diego Velasquez de Bedout, assistant director of the Office of Global Partnerships, director of Latin American Programs and director of the?Colombia Purdue Partnership; and Lauren Trondsen, managing director of the?Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Food Safety.

Purdue University is among the top 10 institutions in the U.S. for attracting international students, according to a new national ranking. The 2024 Open Doors Report, issued Tuesday (Nov. 19) by the Institute of International Education (IIE), ranks Purdue No. 9 among 4,500-plus public and private universities, and it places Purdue at No. 24 among all U.S. institutions in number of study abroad students.
