Yesterday, during IPA Legislative Day, our members had the privilege of advocating for pharmacists, pharmacy students, and patients at the Indiana Statehouse. It was a fantastic opportunity to collaborate with students from Butler and Manchester to engage with state legislators. It was a rewarding experience for our members to communicate the importance of test and treat services, Ashleigh’s Law, dispensing reimbursement, 340B contract protection, and removing barriers to immunization provision by pharmacists. Furthermore, it was fulfilling to hear from a variety of legislators who shared their personal experiences and their commitment towards advancing the profession.

Madelynn Packer, President, and Sarah Oh, member of the Communications Standing Committee, had a great weekend full of advocacy, networking, and leadership building this weekend at the Summer Leadership Institute! Both attended Capitol Hill to advocate for pharmacist provider status and were able to collaborate with leaders of APhA-ASP across the country. We are very proud to have them represent the Purdue chapter, and we can’t wait to hear about what they learned and experienced!

Our students had a great time at APhA Annual 2024 in Orlando, FL! Policy VP Eric Kolp served as Purdue chapter's delegate in the House of Delegates to vote on proposed resolutions made by other APhA-ASP chapters. Our Patient Care VP Jailyn (Lainey) Jones led the Region 4 Meet Up as Mid-Year Regional Meeting Coordinator, which allowed attendees to network with fellow student pharmacists in this region. We also brought home our Region 4 awards for Operation Heart and Operation Diabetes from 2022-2023. Our members had a great time getting to learn and share their experiences with APhA-ASP with fellow student pharmacists and reconnect with faculty, students, and alumni at the Purdue Reception. We would like to thank those who have supported us in our Crowdfunding page and the support from our amazing leaders and advisors! We would also like to give a huge thank you to the American Pharmacists Association for giving our chapter such a great weekend full of networking, education, and fun!
