Exciting news as CNH?and Purdue University have signed a Strategic Alliance Agreement to advance key #agriculture and #construction products, technologies, and services, engaging Purdue students, researchers, and faculty. “The ability for our faculty and students to collaborate closely with an important industry partner, like CNH, allows for a greater understanding of real-world needs and challenges as they work on technologies to deliver solutions," said Bernie Engel, Glenn W. Purdue University hosted the Purdue Policy Research Institute (PPRI)’s #Space Policy Symposium last month, bringing together defense experts, industry leaders, and global technology and policy researchers. “Space is expanding its role in global #security and #defense, and rapid commercialization and innovation," said Stacey Connaughton, PhD, PPRI director. Heartland BioWorks has launched BioTrain, a training institute dedicated to preparing talent for entry-level #biomanufacturing roles. Purdue University innovation is improving safety at Purdue University Airport for pilots and maintenance personnel. ?? ? Inventors in Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Aviation and Transportation Technology have designed and implemented patented "magneto" safety guards for all 18 Piper Archer aircraft in Purdue’s fleet. ? “The guard is a clip that fits over the magneto switch at the top of the flight deck only when it is turned off,”?said Jon Ziulkowski, one of the inventors. “While the clip is in place, the engine cannot be powered on; when the engine is on, the clip cannot be placed over the switch.” ? As the #semiconductor industry continues to grow, Ivy Tech Community College is taking proactive steps to help ensure a sufficient #workforce to meet increasing demand. Three campuses, including Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette, have introduced the semiconductor certificate program, serving as a stepping stone to a college degree. Purdue University has partnered with Ivy Tech, particularly at the Lafayette campus, to host joint programs, camps, and outreach efforts in addition to sharing curriculum. A digital photo could revolutionize worldwide health care. HemaChrome, a digital mobile health startup founded by Young Kim of the Purdue University Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, allows clinicians to assess and measure blood hemoglobin levels quickly and noninvasively by taking a digital photo of the inner eyelid. The startup is collaborating with Global Health Labs Inc. to advance its tech, and with GH Labs’ support, HemaChrome is targeting to have a minimally viable product in late 2025.
