We were honored to host vint cerf, one of the “Fathers of the Internet,” as our guest speaker. Cerf took us through the Internet’s origins, its evolution from research to commercialization, and the innovations that continue to push it forward. He also shared his work as the Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google, including using AI to decode interspecies communication and interplanetary communication. We got to hear his takes on quantum computing, AI’s future, the direction we are headed towards technologically, and the challenges of modern Internet usage. His message to us? “You haven’t seen nothing yet.” The next era of technology is just beginning ??

Behind the Scenes at Purdue Launch Consulting: Weekly Project Meetings Every Wednesday, our team gathers for a 1.5-hour project session designed to push our projects forward. Here’s a glimpse into what happens each week: We start things off with announcements from the executive team, ensuring everyone’s up to date. Then comes the "Power 10," where a member shares a motivational or educational piece—a quote, story, or video—to set an inspiring tone. After this, it’s project time! Teams split up to brainstorm, strategize, and make strides on their specific projects. The exec team circulates, checking in with each group to offer guidance and answer questions as we work together to achieve our goals. How do we approach our projects at Launch??? At Launch, we take a structured and collaborative approach to every project. Here’s a quick look at how we do it: Each project starts with two project leads. The project leads are the main point of contact with the client. Each project as a total of 6-7 members assigned to it. Together, we develop a clear scope of work, outlining key deliverables, goals, and the project’s objectives. This ensures everyone’s aligned from day one. Our teams meet for two hours each week for project meetings to dive into tasks and work through challenges. On the first meeting of every month, project leads present a progress update to the rest of the club to gather feedback and refine strategies. These sessions aren’t just status updates, they’re brainstorming discussions where everyone contributes. Each project has a group of dedicated members that are driven to deliver the best results for our clients.

Last week Launch had the honor of welcoming Ted McElroy as a guest speaker. As Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Phusion Projects, he has amassed 20 years of leadership experience in strategic planning, business transformation, and financial operations for $500M+ organizations. Ted brought us a wealth of knowledge and expertise!
