Amazing engineering on Purcell’s better bulk food dispensers that help reduce waste and improve usability. Their design, injection molded by Fictiv, required very tight tolerances (+/- 0.05mm on the valve, +/- 0.02mm on the nozzle) to get the dispenser’s valve to operate smoothly and reliably without breaking. That level of precision is crucial to ensure it can dispense a variety of products, from powders to chips, without jamming. And getting it right meant precisely calibrating the friction between the valve and the nozzle. As with all customers, Fictiv provided each T1 valve and nozzle part sample with in-depth DFM analysis to dial in the tooling design and mass produce the final parts to Purcell’s exact specifications.
