Prison Releasee Reoffender (PRR) applies to people who commit certain serious crimes within 3 years of being released from prison. If someone qualifies for PRR, they are not eligible for sentencing under the normal guidelines and instead receive the maximum sentence for the offense. This could mean life in prison with no chance of parole for any felony. The author emphasizes that PRR is a very harsh punishment. However, there is a small possibility of avoiding PRR if the state attorney agrees to a lesser sentence. https://lnkd.in/eYersj76

You also have the right to an attorney, even if you can't afford one. If you are arrested, politely say you want to remain silent and request an attorney. Don't talk to law enforcement even if they try to continue questioning you. https://lnkd.in/edkgBRRB
