Our process for capturing ideas has evolved. In the early days we used printer paper and post-it notes tacked to the wall. Now we use iPads for sketching and miro as a collaboration space/digital whiteboard. Prototyping large can be a challenge. Sometimes a 2D or 2.5D prototype can be a simple and effective way to visualize a design and make adjustments before committing to a more costly, complete prototype. #enngineering #prototype #prototyping #mechanicalengineering #design #innovation

On a recent project we needed to build versions of a design to fit a range of heights, depths, widths. To avoid going into CAD every time, saving a version, and editing the dimensions, we automated the process with a custom program. The example we are showing here is for a simple cylinder, but we can apply this process to much more complex geometries, outputting print-to-fit files on the fly. #CAD #engineering #program #programming #mechanicalenginerring #prototying

Our laser cutter was revolutionary for us in prototyping 2D shapes, we also prototype a lot of parts with tools like a craft cutter and standard printer. We rely on these tools often to create full-scale templates, mockups, and even gasket prototypes in-house. #engineering #productdesign #mechanicalengineering #prototype #prototyping
