Step 1 - eradicate invasive sargassum seaweed while selling initial seaweed-based carbon removal. Step 2 - grow seaweeds that can’t become invasive because they can’t spread on their own and increase the volume to match the full carbon removal need thereby solving climate change. Step 3 - transition from an oil based civilization to a seaweed based civilization which is really the same stuff. Instead of digging up oil just grow seaweed in mass quantities using new hardware in the middle of the ocean with robots and ai enabling us to become a carbon neutral and therefore a sustainable species.

Carbon removal with BoatBots that sink seaweed
关于我们
Invasive seaweed is clogging sea lanes and disrupting the hospitality industry across the Caribbean. When large amounts of this seaweed hit coastal communities, they cause both ecological and economic damage. We are developing BoatBots to intercept and sink this invasive seaweed before it reaches the shore. This will protect coral reefs, sea turtles, and native seaweed habitats, while also preserving the beauty of beaches that attract tourists—an essential source of income for local economies. By sinking the seaweed to sufficient depths, we effectively lock away carbon for centuries, helping to mitigate climate change by reducing the overall CO2 in the atmosphere and its contribution to the greenhouse effect. With $25,000 in angel investment and a pilot pre-sale of $10,000 in future carbon removal, we are poised to tap into the growing market for emission reversal technologies. This demand will only increase as corporations seek to meet their net-zero targets. A recent report suggests the global carbon removal market could reach $100 billion annually by 2035. Read more here: https://www.oliverwyman.com/media-center/2024/jun/global-carbon-dioxide-removal-market-could-reach-dollar-100-billion-between-2030-35-with-targeted-interventions.html Companies are seeking carbon removal solutions that are durable, accurate, and scalable to meet their net-zero goals in 5- to 10-year timeframes. Pull To Refresh is well-positioned to develop the necessary technology to meet this demand but we need great people to join us in this journey to make it a reality. If you are brave, bold, and skilled or offer resources that can further this vision please get in touch.

Thanks for the mention of what Pull To Refresh is doing in this very insightful article about carbon removal, it’s many pathways, difficulties and opportunities.

Every year, our oceans absorb 11-15 gigatonnes of CO2 as part of the Earth's natural carbon cycle. Negative emission technology pioneers have begun asking a simple question: What if the power of this immense marine carbon sink could be harnessed even further? Interest in ocean-based removals has swelled significantly over the past few years, with start-ups deploying a variety of different technologies. The three most promising removal methods - ocean alkalinity enhancement, direct ocean capture, and seaweed sinking - are illustrated in this article. The concept behind seaweed sinking is simple: cultivate seaweed, which takes in CO2 as it grows, then sink it to the ocean floor, locking away carbon dioxide for long durations. While scientists have expressed concerns over potential disruption to deep-sea food webs, there are some situations where the environmental benefits are clear. ? In 2011, a giant nuisance bloom of seaweed developed in the central Atlantic Ocean. Known as the Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt, it is caused by rising global temperatures alongside nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients from intensive farming being dumped into rivers. Due to the smell, the attracted insects, and the sheer amount of it piling up on beaches, the Sargassum Belt negatively impacts communities in the Caribbean and West Africa – especially those with economies dependent on tourism. The Sargassum Belt infects reefs and mangroves, filling up habitats and preventing wildlife from breathing. ? Clearly, sinking nuisance seaweed before it reaches shores, sequestering carbon dioxide in the process, could greatly benefit Caribbean and West African communities To read the full article click on the link below or visit the WhyAfrica website, your one-stop-shop for on-the-ground information and business intelligence about Africa. Is SF going to be the climate tech capital of the world? Does it make sense as a base for developing technology to tackle climate change? Does the technical talent here have the ability and interest to create the giant companies we are going to need to bring online massive infrastructure to reverse the accumulated co2 emissions from our atmosphere to cool down our planet and transition to a sustainable civilization? We got on the SF bay the other day and remote controlled the boat via the cloud. Raising and lowering the net worked along with propulsion and turning. Now we need to work on bringing our digital scale data online which will address what goes wrong at the end of this video.

This is great news! Congrats Captura! We need all the pathways to gigatonne scale removal of surplus past emissions we can get. Please check out my full thoughts and comments below. -Arin
Captura is delighted to announce a further expansion of our Series A funding, achieving a total raise of US$45.3M. We extend a warm welcome to our new investors National Grid Partners and Japan Airlines Innovation Fund/ Translink Capital, as well as our continued gratitude to the ongoing support of our existing investors. This funding milestone accentuates Captura's commitment to scale and advance a climate solution that leverages the ocean's natural carbon absorption capabilities. With successful pilot operations and a vision for future commercial deployments, we're poised to remove atmospheric CO2 via the ocean on a major scale.
