The most under-noted challenge in running a penetration test is retesting and remediation: the work that comes after. At HackerOne we've prioritized building tools that help you get issues fixed and strong evidence they're fixed. Things like: - Flexibility to get retests on individual, or all findings, as-needed. - Diff code review of patches prior to deployment without even connecting repositories. - PDF exports of individual findings with lifecycle timestamps and evidence of remediation. - Our security-first AI co-pilot: Hai. For things like analyzing image attachments and expanding on prescriptive recommendations when you prompt it with conditions. More: https://lnkd.in/gf6NEnuS

A beautiful and concise checklist for preparing for a 3rd party penetration test by Piyush V.. https://lnkd.in/gDwwKWgb 1. What is the scope? 2. What are your success criteria for the pentest? 3. What key areas would you want the pentester(s) to focus on? 4. What type of pentest would you like done? 5. What type of environment does the pentest need to be conducted on? 6. What restrictions (if any) need to be applicable? 7. What credentials/certifications should the pentester(s) possess? 8. What type of deliverables do you need out of this pentest? 9. What are your internal timelines to fix Critical and High severity vulnerabilities?

I'm (selfishly) excited about our upcoming webinar, mainly to hear from an old friend, Robert Kugler. As a seasoned security expert, his deep understanding of the pentesting space and beyond sets him apart. Another highlight is Dan Mateer, one of the most inspiring CS leaders I've had the pleasure of working with, known for his versatility across product, security, and delivery. Howard Holton, also joins us, bringing a wealth of industry knowledge, especially in navigating complex enterprise environments. Together, they will delve into GigaOm's most recent Pentest as a Service (#ptaas) Report, offering their experiences on the emerging trends in #pentesting and #applicationsecurity for all proactive security professionals out there! There's still time to reserve your spot: https://bit.ly/3OC71X3

Excited to share something that I’ve been working on with the code review team at HackerOne! We have been looking into many angles of leveraging AI in our product over the past couple of years. One of the most promising applications of AI we have developed so far is a model trained on a custom curated dataset for identifying “Security Hotspots” in code. We trained our models to pair with our network of expert engineers to help guide reviewer focus on the highest risk sections of code. Whether you are getting your entire codebase reviewed, or just a single change, we are able to utilize Security Hotspots to deliver higher value for our customers through cheaper prices and more time spent on critical sections. We believe that this human-in-the-loop approach leverages the capabilities of AI today to give the best of both human and automated code review. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gFYgqycP
