In honor of our veterans today, please take a moment to consider helping #pulliamtrust partner HVAF - Helping Veterans And Families in their time of need. #VeteransDay
November 6, 2024 - UPDATE On October 26, at around 9:30 P.M., there was a catastrophic fire at HVAF of Indiana’s Manchester Apartments — located at 960 N. Pennsylvania Street in downtown Indianapolis. This facility served as a transitional housing property for 48 homeless veterans. After an investigation led by The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD), it was determined that it was an accidental fire. Recent Developments: At the time of the fire, all 48 veterans had been accounted for and have been placed in temporary care in hotel rooms around the city. HVAF has successfully relocated two of the displaced veterans into permanent housing, while another two have been provided with temporary housing at HVAF’s Warman properties. HVAF is committed to continuing these efforts, working diligently to offer stable accommodations to the rest of the displaced veterans still being sheltered in various hotels throughout the city. Collaborating closely with community partners, HVAF staff is exhausting every recourse, seeking out appropriate housing solutions as soon as they become available. The veterans we serve are resilient, and HVAF remains steadfast in our commitment to the well-being of all displaced veterans during this challenging time. The dedicated staff at HVAF is actively striving to find permanent housing solutions, while the mental health team offers daily engagement to deliver vital care and support. Additionally, essential items are being provided through the generosity of community donations. If you would like to support HVAF during this time, please donate here: https://lnkd.in/gWwyg2sX You can also purchase items on our Amazon Wish List that we will provide to the displaced veterans, which can be accessed here: https://lnkd.in/gHcxaXAe For veterans struggling to return to self-sufficiency, Saturday night’s loss is unimaginable. We appreciate the support of our community as we work to rebuild and recover over the next two years. Read here for full statement: https://lnkd.in/gw8nvdtM

Check out this drainage conservation project in central Indiana, supported by the Trust and The Nature Conservancy in Indiana.
It all began with a vision. Through generous funding from the Drackett Family, The Mosaic Company, Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, Cummins Inc, Indiana Corn Marketing Council and the Indiana Soybean Alliance, the initial conservation drainage work completed by Fairholme Farms is set to be replicated and advanced across central Indiana as part of an edge-of-field demonstration network. The Nature Conservancy is proud to be a part of this program to expand conservation drainage practice designs. Read the Drainage Contractor article at https://nature.ly/4fsoV9L
