We’re thrilled to share that our Clean Buildings Accelerator program has picked up yet another award! The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), 2024 Regional Awards – Western US Region, recognized the program as the “Innovative Project of the Year”. The Clean Buildings Accelerator is a free program designed to help PSE’s commercial customers comply with Washington’s Clean Buildings Law. Since the program’s launch, we’ve helped more than 120 organizations adhere to the law by benchmarking, creating an energy management plan, and more.

PSE believes in partnering with our customers to create a better, cleaner energy future. Through our half-dozen industrial programs, including the Industrial System Optimization Program and Industrial Strategic Energy Management, we’re helping industrial businesses reduce their energy usage while lowering their bills and earning incentives. Customers like Conagra Brands, Trident Seafoods and Puyallup Water Pollution Control Plant worked with PSE to become more energy efficient through simple fixes, free energy audits, customized plans and guidance, and more. “We used to run certain equipment 24 hours a day,” says Puyallup WPCP manager Dan Messier. “Now, it runs just four hours a day with no negative impact on operation. All we notice is energy savings.” Learn more: https://ms.spr.ly/6041mhsff

PSE’s award-winning Clean Buildings Accelerator program can help. We’ve supported organizations from school districts to commercial real estate firms to understand what the law requires and how to get on track to comply with the law and go beyond. “PSE’s Accelerator program was extremely helpful in clearing up gray areas and answering my questions about the law’s complex requirements.” – facilities manager at Steilacoom Historical School District No. 1 Organizations can enroll in our free Clean Buildings Accelerator info session Oct. 15. Organizations that electrify their fleets can reduce their operation and maintenance costs while supporting their sustainability goals and preparing for the electric transportation future. PSE can help with its Up & Go Electric for Fleet program, which provides up to $250,000 in incentives to cover a significant portion of the costs for electric service upgrades and EV charging equipment. It’s part of PSE’s commitment to driving the expansion of electric mobility. A big milestone at our Beaver Creek wind facility in Montana this month as the final wind turbine was just installed. Even though all 88 turbines are now standing, we are nowhere near complete. More work needs to be done in the coming months before the wind farm is operational in August of 2025. Learn more at psemontana.com

It’s National Drive Electric Week! Since this time last year, PSE launched three new programs aimed at making it easier and more affordable for our customers to switch to an electric vehicle by expanding access to EV charging. If you’re an EV driver looking to upgrade your home charging, an organization that wants to offer charging to employees, or a community with a desire to provide public charging, our new incentives and rebates can cover up to 100% of the cost. We believe electricity is the transportation fuel of the future and that accelerating the electrification of transportation is vital to achieving carbon reduction goals and creating a more equitable clean energy future. We are excited to announce that will be adding two clean energy projects in our state. One will be a new utility scale-solar farm at our existing Lower Snake River Wind facility. The other is a power purchase agreement we have made for a Battery Energy Storage System in Pierce County. Both projects will be able to generate up to 342 MW of energy to help our commitment to diversify our renewable resource mix and meet the state’s CETA targets.
