As our Office Associate, she’ll handle participant support, assist with office management, and ensure everything runs smoothly for our community and staff. We are incredibly grateful to our donors, partners, sponsors, and community members for making our Planting Prosperity fundraiser dinner a success! Thanks to your support, we surpassed our $300,000 goal, raising an incredible $440,000! While this is a major milestone, the total cost of renovations is nearly $1.3 million. With your continued support, we are confident we can provide safe, dignified housing for farmworkers and their families. In the meantime, we need volunteers! ?? Meet Alejandra Sanchez, Puente’s dedicated driver! Puente provides round-trip rides to medical appointments, the pharmacy, and even the grocery store. In the rural South Coast, where public transportation is limited and distances are long, this service is a lifeline—especially for our older community members. With CPR certification and specialized "Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity" training from the Community Transportation Association of America, Alejandra ensures that every ride is safe, comfortable, and supportive, helping seniors maintain their independence and access vital services.

Our Executive Director, Rita Mancera, has returned from her sabbatical, ready to dive into exciting projects at Puente, including new housing solutions for our community. Through our YPIP (Young Professionals Internship Program), youth ages 17-22 had the opportunity to be placed in a summer internship with local business and organizations that provide real world experiences and abilities. Cinthia Vasquez, a Pescadero native, and first-generation college student, joined our Summer Program in 2018! She spent her Summer at VCA Half Moon Bay Animal Hospital as a veterinary assistant! She is currently pursuing a program in nursing at Canada College. Thank you to the many donors, foundations and organizations that provide funding for these programs to be possible.
