This National Pharmacist Day, Publix Careers proudly recognizes Angela, Pharmacy Manager at store #1106, for her outstanding contributions and dedication. Angela’s journey began when she returned to Orlando after pharmacy school. Growing up in Florida, she valued Publix as a community cornerstone. Her decision to join Publix was driven by a desire to return to her community and the supportive culture she remembered. Starting as a floating pharmacist in May 2021, Angela quickly advanced to Assistant Pharmacy Manager in Leesburg and then Pharmacy Manager in Windermere within a year. Her rapid progression reflects her dedication and the mentorship she received. "I was really lucky to have worked with the Pharmacy Manager in Leesburg, who exemplified how to run a smooth operation while maintaining the Publix culture," Angela shares. Her passion for pharmacy was fueled by her love for healthcare and chemistry, but it was the patient interactions at Publix that truly defined her career path. For Angela, the most rewarding aspect of her job is the relationships she builds with both patients and associates. "I get the best of both worlds. I can be there for the greater community and my Publix community," she says. Her involvement in community service and advocacy meetings further enriches her experience. Angela's favorite aspect of working at Publix is the sense of ownership. As part owners, associates are motivated to contribute to the company’s success. "Being a Pharmacy Manager at Publix doesn’t just feel like a job title, it really feels like I own my pharmacy," Angela shares. Her advice for those considering a career in pharmacy at Publix is simple: "What you give to Publix, Publix will give back." She emphasizes the support and opportunities available, not just for pharmacists but for technicians as well. Angela's story is a testament to the impact a dedicated pharmacist can have on their community. Her journey with Publix exemplifies how passion, mentorship, and a supportive work environment can lead to a fulfilling career.
