I had the opportunity to talk about some of the biggest factors in the 2024 presidential race on the Stories and Strategies Podcast. Social media has played a significant role in successive election cycles since the Obama years, but its role has evolved in some obvious and not so obvious ways. There is still a lot to unpack in the 2024 results, but it is clear that enough of the electorate was seeking change despite good economic fundamentals and comparatively better control of inflation in the U.S. than other parts of the world. Part of the answer may lie in the type of content Americans, particularly younger Americans, are exposed to on social media and how it fuels voter discontent.
