Layla BenBrahim, ‘20, ‘23 and Madalyn Larson, ‘21, ‘24, alumnae from the School of Public Health, made a significant impact on the Burning Man community by distributing menstrual and harm reduction kits to attendees in the Black Rock Desert. Their initiative aimed to provide essential resources for those lacking access to menstruation products and overdose prevention tools.

Sara Perez, a Ph.D. student at the University of Nevada, Reno’s School of Public Health, has been named Nevada’s first recipient of the Health Policy Research Scholars (HPRS) award. This award is part of a leadership program supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which aims to cultivate innovators to promote healthy communities. The HPRS program supports doctoral students from underserved and underrepresented demographics and brings together students from various fields to apply their expertise to policies that advance equity and health. #PackPride #CultureofHealth
