??NEW REPORT: Patient safety in the digital NHS: User-centric approaches to technology and transformation. Digital technology offers the opportunity to revolutionise patient care, supporting the NHS to become more efficient, productive, cost-effective, and importantly, safer.? However, our new report, delivered in partnership with Patient Safety Learning, explains that the NHS will fail to unlock these opportunities without the strategic prioritisation of patient safety. Key findings:? ?? A lack of user-centric design and interoperability between digital technologies is limiting scalable digital transformation and putting patients at risk. ?? Digital clinical safety is being developed across the NHS, but a lack of resource and siloed working limits the ability for the consistent monitoring of digital systems.? ?? NHS leadership must be held to higher digital and data literacy standards to support digital transformation and to advocate for patient safety? ??Opportunities to learn from the NHS patient safety reporting system are limited by a lack of data transparency and capacity for analysis. "It's easy to remove something but as we have shown time and time again with NHS reorganisations, it's much more difficult to build a structure that does work and deliver the objectives we all have for it." - PPP's Chair and former health secretary, Stephen Dorrell, spoke to Sky News about the changes to NHSE. In this new blog our Chief Executive Helen Hughes and Director Clare Wade reflect on last week's Patient Safety Forum 2025, part of our patient safety policy programme with Public Policy Projects. We had a magnificent line up of speakers with expert chairing of panels and a great turn out on the day. There was huge energy in the auditorium with conversations during the breaks that were equally inspiring, with people keen to push ahead on improving patient safety in their own organisations. New Report: Patient Safety in the Digital NHS The latest Public Policy Projects report highlights the need for patient safety to be at the heart of all digital health solutions – both in their design and implementation. As a partner in this programme of work, RLDatix has been working with PPP and Patient Safety Learning to explore how we ensure patient safety is a fundamental consideration in digital transformation, shaping solutions that support clinicians and patients alike. At yesterday’s Patient Safety Forum, healthcare leaders – including RLDatix’s Mark Linggood – explored these themes, discussing how smarter data sharing and digital systems can proactively prevent harm. The message was clear: meaningful progress depends on deeper collaboration between policymakers, technology providers, and frontline teams. RLDatix remains committed to working alongside health and care organisations in embedding safety into every aspect of their digital strategies. ??
