While immunization has been one of the biggest public health success stories, the latest WHO/UNICEF data highlights a concerning stall in global childhood vaccination coverage in 2023. Millions of children, especially in the most vulnerable communities, remain unprotected. In response to these alarming gaps, The Respiratory Virus Prevention and Preparedness Unit at The Task Force for Global Health, Inc. and US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are working in Nigeria to strengthen immunization services, targeting sub-national areas to reduce the zero dose burden and prevent vaccine-preventable disease outbreaks. Funding is available for Civil Society Organization (CSO) based in Nigeria to support immunization-strengthening strategies in line with Nigeria’s national priorities.
