Who We Are: Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh (PHFBD) is an independent, autonomous, non-political, and non-profitable organization led by a group of well-reputed, committed, and dedicated multidisciplinary professionals, including physicians, nurses, health academicians, health researchers, public health specialists, and allied health professionals from home and abroad. It aims to make a positive change towards establishing a fairer, inclusive, more equitable, and healthier society by addressing immerging public health challenges through evidence-based actions, research, mobilizing required resources, and delivering people-centered health services PHFBD believes in Working Together to make a powerful and synergistic impact on wider ramified society. Therefore, it works closely in partnership with the government, non-government sectors, INGOs, and other stakeholders, including the communities, and aspires to build a "Healthy Bangladesh." Vision and Mission: Vision PHFBD envisions informed, empowered, and inclusive communities for a healthier future generation. Mission PHFBD's mission is to engage key stakeholders, including the public and private sectors and broader communities for collaboration, innovation, capacity building, and evidence-based advocacy initiatives to influence the health and well-being of the general population. Approach and Activities: As an impact-driven organization, whatever we do, we critically evaluate and follow for desired result(s). We always assess the need and urgency before commencing any initiative, and we jump into action when we see clarity about the impact. PHFBD's mission and activities are aligned with the 21" Century's public health needs and our country-specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Currently, we have a wide range of activities.

??Congratulations to Dr Tahmeed Ahmed on Being Awarded the Public Health Excellence Award We are proud to share that icddr,b Executive Director Dr Tahmeed Ahmed has been awarded the Public Health Excellence Award by the Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh for his significant contributions as a public health expert. The award was conferred during the 10th International Public Health Conference held on 6 December 2024 in Bogura, organised jointly by the Public Health Foundation and TMSS Medical College. Professor Dr Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor and State Minister for Health of the Interim Government, presented the prestigious award to the recipients at a gala dinner attended by over 500 public health enthusiasts from Bangladesh and abroad. The award recognises Dr Tahmeed Ahmed’s three decades of dedicated work in simplifying child nutrition management and addressing the challenge of malnutrition. Although Dr Tahmeed was unable to attend the ceremony in person, he expressed his gratitude to the Public Health Foundation through a video message. He said, “This is going to inspire me to do more for public health in the country as well as in other countries around the world.” Dr Tahmeed shares this honour with another internationally renowned public health expert, Professor Dr Ahmed Mushtaque Raza Chowdhury, Professor of Clinical Population and Family Health at Columbia University, New York, USA, and the founding Dean of the BRAC James P. Grant School of Public Health. Each year, the Public Health Foundation of Bangladesh recognises outstanding contributors among public health experts, institutions, and organisations for their efforts to achieve specific goals in the health sector. The International Public Health Conference convenes leading public health professionals, researchers, and policymakers to discuss pressing global and local health issues and explore innovative solutions. This year's conference theme is "Leveraging Innovation for Resilient Health Systems."
