Thank you to New Mexico Public Education Department for your support in helping us make the inaugural New Mexico Parent University for Families of Children with Disabilities a success! Over the past two days, more than 500 attendees, including families of students with disabilities and state partners, engaged in meaningful discussion to help foster academic and #BehavioralSuccess for children with disabilities. Our team had enjoyed sharing insights related to enhancing communication between families, schools, and communities and strategies for navigating the #IndividualizedEducationPlan (#IEP) process. We hope to continue these conversations beyond the conference and provide all children the supports and services they need to succeed.
Today marked the first day of our inaugural Parent University Conference, with an incredible 500 registrants from across New Mexico! It has been a day filled with meaningful engagement with families of students with disabilities, alongside invaluable conversations with NMPED executive leadership, legislative leaders, and our dedicated state partners. I am deeply grateful to the Public Consulting Group (PCG) and Northwest Regional Education Cooperative (NWREC2) for their collaboration and support in making this event a reality. A huge shout-out to my amazing staff also! The energy and commitment displayed today have set the tone for an even more impactful day tomorrow. Let’s keep the momentum going!
