Last month, our team and community members joined together for the ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) program. This powerful, two-day training is designed to equip anyone, regardless of background, with skills to support those at risk for suicide. Together, we're building a community where everyone can recognize, respond to, and support those in need. Join us for the next training— click here to register: https://lnkd.in/gxRbV7hq

Trauma has a way of embedding itself into our everyday experiences, even long after the battlefield is behind us. One moment, one mission can change the way we respond to the world around us. For many Veterans, crowded places and unfamiliar surroundings can trigger intense feelings of vulnerability and danger. One Veteran shared his story of hyper-vigilance—a mission gone wrong on Mount Sinjar that now translates into an overwhelming sense of unease in crowds and heightened alertness in seemingly safe situations. Even routine moments, like a late-night stop at a gas station, can become scenes where the mind shifts into survival mode. At the PTSD Foundation of America, we understand that these unseen wounds are real and that healing requires compassion, support, and a community that knows you're not alone. Camp Hope offers Veterans a place to find safety, understanding, and the tools to reclaim peace in their daily lives.

This Veterans Day weekend was unforgettable! From the delicious competition at our 13th Annual BBQ Cook-off to the powerful moments in the Veterans Day Parade where our residents rode on horses provided by Warrior Counseling Works, it was a weekend filled with community and camaraderie. We closed out the celebrations with great music and memories at 100.3 The Bull's Ten Man Jam. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and made this weekend special for our veterans. Your dedication helps keep our mission alive!
