The Piedmont Triad Regional Council's Workforce & Economic Development Department is dedicated to delivering creative solutions to workforce and economic development partners in our region. As a dual department, we operate under two main entities: the Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board and the Piedmont Triad Regional Development Corporation. The Piedmont Triad Regional Workforce Development Board (PTRWDB) serves ten counties in the Piedmont Triad Region: Alamance, Caswell, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Randolph, Rockingham, Stokes, Surry, and Yadkin. PTRWDB Core Objectives: -Serve as the regional expert on workforce-related issues, providing regional research and data to our partners -Design and implement a strategic plan to meet the needs of the region's businesses for a skilled, reliable, and proficient workforce -Convene and engage in public/private partnerships that respond to emerging workforce issues and economic development opportunities The Piedmont Triad Regional Development Corporation (PTRDC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the twelve-county Piedmont Triad Region. PTRDC Goals & Focus: -Boost the Region’s Competitive Advantage and Leverage the Marketplace -Develop and Retain Talented and Innovative Human Capital -Create and Connect Vibrant, Healthy, and Resilient Communities -Establish and Modernize a Robust Regional Infrastructure The Workforce and Economic Development Department is proud to be able to offer the use of our Mobile Career Center and/or the Mini Mobile Unit to partners in our region. Both of these mobile units provide flexible space that can be configured as a computer lab, classroom, or a private area for interviews and assessments.

  • Request for Proposals: Asset Mapping Plan for Forsyth County, NC? The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is seeking qualified consultants to develop a comprehensive Asset Mapping Plan for identified census tracts in Forsyth County, NC. This project, funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), aims to bridge gaps between those with the greatest need and service providers working to make workforce development and supportive services more accessible. The asset map will compile resources related to economic mobility, workforce development, and supportive services across 22 communities in Forsyth County. As one of the most challenging counties in North Carolina for economic mobility, this initiative is critical to fostering equitable change by enhancing workforce programming and strengthening community impacts. This ARPA-funded project aims to assess the resources currently available to entrepreneurs and small businesses, identify gaps, and provide recommendations to foster growth and inclusivity. Our goal? Support high-potential, lower-resourced opportunities, and ensure diverse entrepreneurs have access to the tools they need to succeed across the 10-county Piedmont Triad region.
