Grateful to have the opportunity to discuss our course in the Columbia Psychiatry Public Psychiatry fellowship! Love having our trainees learn best practices to engage with the public through written and visual media! We need more credible voices in the mental health and media space! It’s been a joy to help lead this course over the past 4 years with Maria Mirabela Bodic & Peter Steen! Thank you Psychiatric Times for publishing this! #FindYourVoice #Misinformation #MentalHealth #Media

In forensic and carceral mental health settings, one does not have to venture far to hear the "m" word. When mental health diagnoses are viewed as labels themselves, malingering is one of the most severe kinds of branding. On the flip side, genuine malingering (no pun intended), can have dire consequences.
