The College of Arts and Architecture at Penn State is a comprehensive arts community including academic programs in music, theatre, visual arts, graphic design, art history, architecture and landscape architecture. The college is committed to artistic and scholarly creativity, research and the preparation of specialized practitioners in all of the arts and design disciplines, along with community engagement in its programs. College of Arts and Architecture faculty are dedicated to providing high-quality? professional instruction to the approximately 1,450 graduate and undergraduate? students enrolled in the college. They also are responsible for providing undergraduate literature, history ?and studio courses in the arts for all students at Penn State. The college is housed in sixteen buildings on the? University Park campus. It includes performance spaces, gallery/exhibition spaces, a lighting and design lab, computer labs, special subject libraries, specialized studios and a stage lighting archive.

Recent graduates (last 10 years) of the College of Arts and Architecture are invited to participate in a survey as part of a doctoral student research project. Below is the message from the student and link to the survey: As a doctoral candidate in the School of Education at Liberty University, I am conducting research as part of the requirements for a Ph.D. degree. The purpose of my research is to determine how accurately income satisfaction can be predicted from annual income and entrepreneurial knowledge and skills curricula in arts education programs among college graduates within the past 10 years, and I am writing to invite you to join my study.? ? Participants must have graduated within the past 10 years from an art program or an art entrepreneurship program. Participants will be asked to take an anonymous, online survey. It should take approximately 5 mins to complete. Participation will be completely anonymous, and no personal, identifying information will be collected.? ? Applications are invited for the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s?Audrey?Flack?Short-Term Fellowship. The application deadline is?February 1. The renowned artist Audrey?Flack?(1931–2024) generously established this short-term award in recognition of her personal journey balancing intensive career demands with raising two daughters, one of whom has autism. A single Audrey?Flack?Short-Term Fellowship will be awarded annually in support of a one-month (thirty-day) residency. Residencies must take place between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026, and begin on the 1st or 15th of the month. The Audrey?Flack?Short-Term Fellow will receive a stipend of $5,000 to support travel to and living expenses in Washington, D.C. Housing is not provided.? ? The Audrey?Flack?Short-Term Fellowship is open to predoctoral, postdoctoral, and senior scholars researching topics in American art who reside, work, or attend school outside of commuting distance from Washington, D.C. Researchers whose personal circumstances (i.e., financial constraints, employment conditions, care-giving responsibilities, or other limitations) preclude them from participating in longer-term residencies are encouraged to apply. Applicants should submit a statement of need justifying the rationale for a short-term fellowship. More information on submitting an application can be found on our?How to Apply page. ?
