Psi Chi member, Maanya, was eager to join Psi Chi to connect with like-minded individuals and contribute to a community dedicated to advancing the field. Why did you join Psi Chi?!

To all of our wonderful members: we are so thankful for you! The Psi Chi Headquarters office will be closed November 28-29. Enjoy this time with friends, family, and loved ones. ????

During the fall of 2023, Utah State University’s Psi Chi Chapter wanted to help create a stronger sense of community and engagement among psychology students. The chapter cosponsored a “peersgiving” activity where students could eat a meal together and engage with other students, and Psi Chi council members and faculty within the psychology department. After the food was served, everyone played a Jeopardy-style game where students along with faculty in their groups competed to highlight their knowledge of general psychology content. Students had a positive experience and were able to make new connections with others.

Makayla has always wanted to be in Psi Chi since she was 12! She knew she wanted to be in psychology, so thought “Why not strive for excellence?” Makayla has since served as membership coordinator and is currently president of her chapter. She highlights having met so many lovely psychology students, been able to achieve awards, present, and much more! Makayla is excited to continuously represent Psi Chi.

Psi Chi turned 95 on September 4, 2024, with successes, challenges, and history worthy of celebrating and reflecting. Last night, the Psi Chi UCF Chapter Orlando Chapter, held its Fall 2024 Induction Ceremony! ?? I had the privilege of helping organize this event alongside our amazing team of officers. After months of planning and preparation, we were thrilled to welcome our new members into the society. Our Faculty Advisor, Dr. Chin, delivered an inspiring speech and presented cords to honor our graduating seniors. ?? We also conducted a memorable candlelight ???ceremony, symbolizing the commitment and dedication of our members. It was heartwarming to congratulate each inductee on their hard work and celebrate their achievement of joining this prestigious organization. The event was a great success, and everyone had an incredible time! I’m so proud to be part of the Psi Chi The International Honor Society in Psychology that emphasizes encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship for its members and advancing the field of psychology.
