关于我们
The San Diego chapter was founded in 1959 by six local PR professionals. More than 50 years later, the chapter has expanded to include Imperial County and has grown to its current membership of approximately 300 members. Members represent a wide range of experience levels, and practice areas including corporate, agency, government, nonprofit and education. The San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of PRSA (PRSA SD/IC) offers a full range of programs and services organized by volunteer committees. These include, but are not limited to, professional development opportunities, a job board, bimonthly member newsletter, public service program, annual awards program, a new professionals group, social events and an accreditation (APR) program. The chapter maintains a broad range of professional development activities to strengthen the professionalism of its members. Events are held nearly every month, featuring speakers and topic of professional interest. The chapter is led by a board of directors consisting of the president, president-elect, secretary, treasurer, immediate past president, assembly delegate(s) and 10 directors-at-large. PRSA firmly believes that professional integrity is based on sound and ethical practice. Upon joining the Society, each member agrees to adhere to PRSA’s Code of Professional Standards for the Practice of Public Relations. PRSA SD/IC is one of more than 100 chapters within the Public Relations Society of America, the world’s largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals. PRSA SD/IC is a member of the national organization’s Western District, which includes nine other chapters: California Inland Empire, Colorado, Hawaii, Las Vegas Valley, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Pikes Peak and Southern Arizona. The chapter celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2009.

As we approach the end of the year, we want to extend our most sincere thank you to a very special outgoing board member, Barbara Cosio Moreno. After five years of incredible service, it’s time for Barb to step down and we couldn’t be more grateful for the legacy she’s leaving. Barb exemplifies service and volunteerism like no other. With her north star always being the chapter’s wellbeing and its commitment to our members—new, returning, and tenured—she has shown us how to show up for a professional society like PRSA. Barb reminds us often that we are the place of gathering for many professionals looking to enter the field or who are searching for their next step. She also set the tone for the future of our chapter, a welcoming entity that proves PR to be a craft and profession that any storyteller can be a part of. We thank her for her ideas and pushthrough. Regional boards like ours go the distance because of selfless leaders like Barb! Please join us in celebrating her years of service!?
