Congratulations to our 2024 PRSA Richmond Foundation scholarship recipients!
Public relations pro based in Richmond, Va. I build and execute media relations and content strategies for awesome clients. Often sharing resources on LinkedIn and baked goods with the office.
We celebrated some very talented communication students at today’s PRSA Richmond Chapter luncheon. Meet Jordyn Isaacs, Sylvia Mack and Casey Frost. They’re three of the four 2024 PRSA Richmond Foundation scholarship recipients – and they’re rockstars. Year after year, I’m amazed at the accomplished students who apply to our program. Big thanks to my fellow Foundation board members for their support and service: Andy Poarch, Jill Vaughan, Meg Irvin, APR, Susan Pollard, M.A., APR, Fellow PRSA, Carol Mawyer, Ken Story and Pryor Green, APR. It’s been wonderful serving alongside you. You can support the Foundation here: https://lnkd.in/g7uZ7wuf.

So many great take-aways from today’s PRSA Richmond Chapter program Conexión Y Comunicación: How Your Communications Program Can Authentically Engage Spanish-Speaking Audiences.A few that stuck with me include: 1) our region is seeing more people from Colombia and Venezuela. They are highly educated and language is one of their greatest challenges; 2) building trust is so important and it requires a long-term commitment. You have to build a relationship without immediately wanting something in return; 3) after you launch a campaign, what’s going to happen when someone calls you back? You have to “get your house ready.” Many thanks to the organizers, to VPM for hosting, and to the panelists including Karla Almendarez- Ramos and Oscar Contreras.
