Dorothy Thompson (1893–1961) was an American journalist and broadcaster, often referred to as the “First Lady of American Journalism.” She was one of the few journalists to interview Adolf Hitler before World War II and was a vocal critic of his regime. Famous works include "I Saw Hitler!" (1931). Thompson’s profile of Hitler, written before he came to power, was one of the first warnings about his dangerous ambitions. "On the Record" - Thompson’s widely syndicated newspaper column reached millions of readers and made her one of the most influential commentators of her time. Thompson was named by TIME magazine as one of the two most influential women in America, alongside Eleanor Roosevelt. She remains a pioneer in political journalism and a role model for women in the field. Learn more about America's most preeminent voice against fascism: https://ow.ly/1YKh50Vf5As #WomensHistoryMonth

On Feb. 28, PRSA Georgia members took a powerful journey to Montgomery, AL, visiting the Legacy Sites to reflect, learn, and grow in honor of #BlackHistoryMonth. Organized by the Chapter's DEI Committee, this emotional day of history and connection also aligned with an economic blackout, amplifying the conversation on DEI efforts. "Gaining a deeper understanding of the early history of one of the United States' largest demographics was the goal, in addition to coming together as group to experience something new together and discuss and reflect on it," said Betsy Helgager Hughes, DEI Committee Board Liaison. #InternationalWomensDay is tomorrow, Saturday, March 8, and we recognize the impact of trailblazers who have shaped our industry's and society's future. One such pioneer is Muriel Fox, a #PRpro who co-founded the National Organization for Women (NOW), leveraging strategic communication to drive meaningful change and advocate for women. Her work is a lesson in the power of PR, particularly in advocacy and social progress. Let us continue to amplify voices, challenge barriers, and build a brighter future.
