On Feb. 28, PRSA Georgia members took a powerful journey to Montgomery, AL, visiting the Legacy Sites to reflect, learn, and grow in honor of #BlackHistoryMonth. Organized by the Chapter's DEI Committee, this emotional day of history and connection also aligned with an economic blackout, amplifying the conversation on DEI efforts. "Gaining a deeper understanding of the early history of one of the United States' largest demographics was the goal, in addition to coming together as group to experience something new together and discuss and reflect on it," said Betsy Helgager Hughes, DEI Committee Board Liaison. Angela Robinson, an Atlanta native, spent time as an anchor for Atlanta's NBC affiliate and CBS affiliate. At an Association for Black Journalists Black History Month program in 2023, Journalist Donnell Suggs shared that Robinson remembered the advice that helped carry her over an award-winning career: "You need to know who you are and to whom you are." Angela is the Director of Operations for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). Robinson is host and executive producer of the award-winning program “IN CONTACT,” Atlanta’s only news and public affairs talk show covering topics from an African American perspective.
