We are incredibly proud of our Past-President, Darrel Ng, for starting the initiative that led to the launch of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Affinity Group – a space dedicated to empowering #AANHPI professionals and their allies. We were inspired by the 25 people who joined the first virtual meeting to share how we can best serve the community. This group, led by Darrel, Binna Kim and Cheryll Ocampo Forsatz focuses on: ?? Building community ?? Amplifying voices ?? Fostering cultural awareness within PRSA What’s to come? ?? Quarterly virtual programming ?? Meet-ups in NY, SF, and DC ??? Informal mentoring and more All are welcome to participate and contribute! #PRSA #DiversityInPR #CommsCommunity
Humbled. Inspired. Excited. That's how I felt after the inaugural Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) AANHPI Affinity Group's virtual meeting this week. I was humbled by the 25 people who showed up to let us know how Binna Kim, Cheryll Ocampo Forsatz and I could best serve the community this year. I am inspired by the breadth of representation we had on the call -- from all backgrounds, parts of the country (including Hawaii and Alaska!) and stages in their career. I'm excited about the work to come. Quarterly virtual programming. Meet ups in New York, San Francisco and Washington DC. Informal mentoring and lots more. Thanks to all those who came. Taizin Fujishima Barnhardt, Joshua Lee, Patrice Tanaka, Kristelle Siarza Moon, MBA, APR, Ann Marie Price, Billy C., Elizabeth McDonald, Glenn Gillen, APR, Tony Ferguson, Nancy Wongvipat Kalev, MPH, Cherry Dumaual, Emily Cho, Keenan Kurihara, Angelica Flynn, APR, Ely Anne Vedar, Maribell Pabalan, APR, Kim B., John McCartney, APR, Victoria Khamsombath, Carrie Gurenlian, Denise Della-Sabas, Kathrine Ann Dela, Victoria Lim, Marshall B. and others I'm sure I missed. Let me know if you want to join! All are welcome to participate and contribute!

Sacramento lost a visionary communications leader with the passing of Scot Crocker. A master in marketing and branding, founder of the Sacramento Walk of Stars, and a dedicated columnist and author, Scot’s impact on the greater Sacramento community was profound. He was also recognized as PR Professional of the Year by the Sacramento Public Relations Association (before the organization merged with the PRSA California Capital Chapter). Scot’s creativity, his commitment to mentoring others, and passion for our city and profession will be deeply missed. Our chapter sends heartfelt condolences to his family and all who were inspired by his work. https://bit.ly/436Gauj
