Proximity Learning partners with districts to solve teacher vacancies by livestreaming certified teachers, from all over the country, into physical classrooms for all subjects. Having already served over 150 districts and 45,000 students, Proximity Learning is committed to connecting all learners with the expert teachers they deserve. Proximity Learning facilitates district course subject needs by providing live, real-time, teacher-led instruction through video conferencing software, ensuring students do not miss out on valuable math, world language, SPED, science, or elective subjects. Each student is given access to instruction through a laptop where they can view and interact with their teacher; students and instructors communicate with each other in real-time via webcam and via text-chat. Proximity Learning teachers are the most important part of closely approximating the experience of a traditional brick and mortar classroom setting - we value those with a passion for teaching, the ability to be autonomous, and a strong drive to connect a diverse group of students across the United States with the quality teachers they deserve. Our teachers work from home and get paid a competitive salary based on experience. Additionally, we offer growth opportunities and bonuses based on student success.     ?? Proximity Learning is Peer Reviewed and Research-Based! According to a newly published study in the International Journal of Education and Social Science, students receiving virtual instruction from Proximity Learning consistently perform on par with or above their peers in traditional classrooms. ?? The study analyzed standardized test scores in 8th and 9th grade ELA, Science, Biology, and Algebra 1 for students in Memphis-Shelby County Schools who had access to Proximity Learning’s certified virtual teachers. The results? ? Higher or comparable scores in English and Science compared to non-Proximity students. ? Proximity-taught students outperformed their peers in 9th grade Algebra 1, English 1, and English 2 in 2022. ? Students with Proximity Learning support showed steady gains year-over-year, demonstrating the effectiveness of certified, live virtual instruction. This research proves what we’ve known all along—virtual learning, when done right, is just as effective as traditional instruction.     Education is at a crossroads. The potential closure of the U.S. Department of Education and the cancellation of millions in grants tied to tutoring and ESSER funds could have massive consequences—especially for low-income communities. What happens to Title I funding? What happens to students who rely on extra reading and math interventions just to have a fighting chance? Public education is supposed to be the great equalizer. But without proper funding and support, we risk leaving millions of students behind—especially those whose families can’t afford tutors or extra help.
