Meeting the needs of farmers and helping them produce more, sustainably, requires innovation and partnership. Today we are delighted to announce a new collaboration with Syngenta Biologicals to bring new pheromone-based biological solutions to help manage devastating pests in corn and rice in key countries in Asia. This collaboration will see two new pheromone solutions aimed at helping farmers manage the devastating pests, Yellow Stem Borer (YSB) in India and Indonesia and Fall Armyworm (FAW) in Thailand. The YSB and FAW pests stand out as among the most destructive insect pests in agriculture, threatening a wide variety of crops in many countries, impacting farmers’ livelihoods, as well as global food security. This new partnership is in line with Syngenta Biologicals and Provivi, Inc. sustainability priorities, which include accelerating crop productivity while reducing the impact on the planet, through more sustainable technologies. The YSB Eco-Dispenser for India and Indonesia, and the FAW Eco-Granules for Thailand will be available for farmers from 2026. Find out more: https://lnkd.in/dqJQYe9F

Provivi Brazil announces regulatory approval for a new pheromone-based product for Spodoptera frugiperda - Pherogen? Granulo FAW Provivi?, a global leader in pheromone-based pest management solutions, announces the regulatory approval in Brazil of Pherogen? Granulo FAW, a new product registered to control the devastating pest Spodoptera frugiperda, commonly known as fall armyworm (FAW). Pherogen? Granulo FAW marks a new era in Provivi's? portfolio: this is the first product in the brand's new granular formulation. The company brings another preventive, selective, and non-toxic tool for Integrated Pest Management (IPM), benefiting farmers, the environment, and consumers. Spodoptera frugiperda is one of the most destructive pests in the world, causing severe damage to various crops at all stages of development. Faced with the growing resistance of pests to traditional control methods, the market seeks innovative and sustainable solutions such as pheromone-based products. "We are very excited about the registration of Pherogen? Granulo FAW," says Peter Meinhold, chief technology officer (CTO) of Provivi. "This new product, with its granular formulation, reduces the operational complexity for the farmer by requiring only one application in crops like soybean and corn and two in cotton. It promotes high control, lasting up to 40 days in the field in an effective and environmentally friendly tool for managing fall armyworm. We are very grateful to the hard work of our team and collaborators who were steadfast in their commitment to bring this product to market.” In recent years, we have obtained several registrations for important pests in Europe, Americas, ásia and Africa. In Brazil, fall army worm mating disruption pheromone is already an IPM tool reality for cotton producers, where Provivi started its sales in 2021 using a liquid formulation. The solid results with Pherogen? Spray FAW in Brazil and the new granular product that will be launched by 2025 continues to incentive Provivi to bring more sustainable products to our portifolio. We believe this launch will further drive our growth in the Brazilian market in major crops such as cotton, soybean, corn and others."?said Veronica Gaviolle, Brazil Country Leader. With the launch of Pherogen? Granulo FAW, Provivi? reaffirms its commitment to offering innovative and sustainable solutions for agricultural pest control, contributing to a safer and more productive future for agribusiness.

Researchers reported an increase in both the diversity and abundance of species when using Provivi?? mating disruption pheromones in a maize agroecosystem in Sinaloa The study took place in the fall-winter season of 2019, specifically in three farmers' plots situated in commercially representative maize regions within the state of Sinaloa. The researchers reported an increase in both the diversity and abundance of species as described in the published article "Biodiversity of Insects in a Maize Agroecosystem under Commercial Production Conditions with Spodoptera Frugiperda Mating Disruption Pheromones at Sinaloa," Southwestern Entomologist 48(4), 805-816, (14 December 2023). https://lnkd.in/geMXnBYN These observations are especially significant given that in addition to reflecting the preservation of biodiversity, they may suggest a greater presence of beneficial insects that help in the biological control of the fall armyworm pest. #Biodiversity #AgriculturalEcosystems #MatingDisruptionPheromones #BeneficialInsects Guadalupe Alfonso López Urquídez Miguel Serrano Thomas Clark Rogelio Armenta Carlos Alfonso López Orona Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa Raymundo Medina-López Lorena Molina-Cárdenas
