Dick was a steadfast leader and mentor whose vision, experience and wisdom had an indelible impact on our firm and our team. His unique perspective was shaped by the many lessons he learned and people with whom he forged deep relationships over a renowned career – a perspective which contributed to the success of many organizations, including ours. A titan of the media industry with an extraordinary ability to connect with people, there is no one like Dick, and we are grateful for his valuable contributions to our firm for over a decade. We honor his legacy and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.

Earlier this month, Providence’s Women’s Roundtable hosted their Women’s Breakfast, an event that brought together women from the Providence team, portfolio companies, and the investor community. The event featured a fireside chat led by Laura Desmond, Providence Operating Partner, and CEO of Smartly, alongside Elizabeth Lindsey, Global President, Brands and Properties at Wasserman and Angela Ruggiero, Co-Founder & Chair of Sports Innovation Lab and Olympic Gold Medalist. They explored the recent growth in media coverage and future potential within women’s sports. The discussion highlighted the current investing landscape in women’s sports, why some investors are capitalizing on this movement, and the role brands, media, consumers, and fans are playing in this new era of increased engagement in the industry. Providence is honored to be part of the Women in Media Investing (WIMI) initiative for the 2nd year in a row. WIMI seeks to promote connectivity amongst media and entertainment investors through increasing engagement, educating the next generation of investment professionals, and facilitating networking opportunities. This year's panel was focused on engaging early career female finance professionals.
