We save Ohio money & keep families together ?? Our Providence House President & CEO, Natalie Leek, testified before the Ohio House Finance Committee yesterday and spoke with House Speaker Matt Huffman to share the impact our Crisis Nursery has on the state and the need for continued investment in our successful national model. Providence House provides services at no cost to children and families in crisis, helping prevent foster care placements by keeping nearly 100% of families we serve together, and saving millions of dollars in foster care costs. Last year, almost 700 children were on our waiting list, and as the need for our services increases, we're asking for a modest increase in the state budget to serve more families, keep up with rising costs of care, and address the state's foster care crisis. As counties across Ohio are interested in bringing a Crisis Nursery to their community, we're also asking for $500,000 for a feasibility study to identify areas for expansion. You can watch Natalie's testimony at the link below, starting at the 1:25 mark. https://lnkd.in/e-xbrydt
