“Given the state of student achievement and the findings of the GAO, we clearly need a nationwide, all-hands-on-deck approach to improving student outcomes through a clear, understandable approach to identifying, defining and disseminating evidence-based principles.” An opinion piece in by Charles Barone and Rianna Saslow in The Hechinger Report talks about lessons learned from high-poverty schools with high academic performance post-pandemic. Includes a list of approaches these school leaders use to help students. Includes the fact that “high-performing schools use data as a common thread to drive, monitor and adjust every aspect of their operations.” https://bit.ly/4fAtlvA
