Workplace injuries cost $167 billion annually, according to the National Safety Council— In construction, soft tissue injuries dominate. Our approach to soft tissue injury prevention slashes these costs by focusing on true prevention, not reaction. Companies can choose to invest in a program to prevent these injuries or pay a much larger cost to deal with them after they happen. #InjuryPrevention #WorkplaceSafety #ConstructionHealth #DataDriven #InvestInYourTeam

Spreading the word about Soft Tissue Injury Prevention!
Part 3 and the final post about my amazing summer!?In Houston, TX this August I was fortunate to participate in National Association of Women in Construction's 69th Annual Conference. What a spectacular event full of laughter, education, and community! Crissy Ingram, CAE, thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak to such a remarkable group of women!?Every day I work with the Jobsite Athletes that build our world, but NAWIC gave me a chance to pay special attention to the women out there on the job and in the industry. ?I'm so grateful to Angela Taylor at Construction Career Collaborative for the kind introduction to NAWIC.?Also, for being such an advocate for the support and wellbeing of our Jobsite Athletes.?The connections I made with NAWIC members, attendees, and other presenters was priceless. ?A special thanks to Debbie Draper, CCM for making it all work.

I cannot believe fall is here! Summer was so busy and amazing that I never stopped to express my gratitude for the wonderful opportunities I had to share ProVention Plus's message of injury prevention through better movement and overall wellness. I’d like to do that now while publicly recognizing some of the folks who helped make our summer such a success. One of the coolest events I participated in was Nor Cal 1DPR Craft Safety Day in Santa Clara, CA in early July.?I had the honor of speaking to nearly 600 craft workers about their role as Jobsite Athletes and the importance of proper movement, warming up before work, fueling well, and recovering (think sleep) to help them avoid soft tissue injuries on and off the job. Special thanks to Spencer Cook for the hard work in creating this 3 day event and allowing me to be a part of it.?Mirian Martinez was the interpreter for the full 3 days and had the extra challenging job of helping me hone my ideas in Spanish.

In almost every aspect of #construction #safety we identify an area of concern and use training and education to mitigate potential harm; except for the most common form of injury on a job site - Soft Tissue Injuries. We're trying to remedy that with our introductory course on how job site athletes can avoid soft tissue injuries before they happen and how they can recover from them faster when they do occur. Check out our course at https://lnkd.in/gdebUQYK and let us know what you think. #injuryprevention #austinconstruction
