Justin Trudeau has announced his GST Holiday along with a one time cheque of of $250 to Canadians who earned less than $150,000 last year. Items that will not be subject to GST from December 14 to February 15 include: Prepared foods (premade salads and sandwiches) Restaurant meals snacks alcoholic beverages under 7% ABV Children's items (diapers, clothing, shoes, booster seats) Children's toys Print Newspapers Christmas Trees Can anyone tell me how this will help low-income Canadians? Other than the children's item's, many of which don't have GST on them already, this is just fluff to buy votes.

In order to do this the filibuster over the Liberals green slush fund would have to end. So Trudeau is using the carrot of a tax break for Canadians to tie the hands of the opposition parties when it comes to investigation the disappearance of millions of taxpayers dollars. Kinda slimy if you ask me.
