A milestone day for the citizens of Connecticut and beyond! PI is so proud to be part of the collaboration with these amazing clinical partners!
Exciting day for healthcare in Connecticut! Today, we broke ground on the Connecticut Proton Therapy Center in Wallingford—a partnership between Yale New Haven Health and Hartford HealthCare, in collaboration with Proton International, LLC , Yale Medicine, and Radiation Oncology Associates, PA. This 25,000-square-foot facility will offer advanced proton therapy, a cutting-edge cancer treatment that uses a targeted proton beam rather than traditional X-rays. With completion set for mid-2026 and the first patients expected by December 2026, this center will be a game-changer for cancer care in the region. We’re proud to lead the way in delivering patient-centric, breakthrough treatments that will improve outcomes and save lives.

Happy 1 year Anniversary! ???? One year of access to this lifesaving treatment for the citizens of Arkansas and beyond!
"It hardly seems possible, but today we mark one year since the opening of the Proton Center of Arkansas, a collaboration of the UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Baptist Health, Arkansas Children's and Proton International, LLC. It was a proud day for us and for healthcare in Arkansas as we joined a small, elite group of states that offer this groundbreaking therapy for children and adults with cancer. "Thank you to our partners, employees and everyone who helped make the Proton Center of Arkansas a reality for cancer patients in Arkansas," Cam Patterson, M.D., MBA, UAMS Chancellor. Congrats to Proton Center of Arkansas on one year of bringing this life saving treatment to the patients of Arkansas and beyond!
It’s hard to believe that the Proton Center of Arkansas has already been open for a year. Dr. Bowers, my grandfather, was a proud member of the Arkansas medical establishment, so it’s particularly rewarding for me to have our team serve the same community now. There are so many people to acknowledge on this anniversary, but I want to start with our key partners: Arkansas Children’s, Baptist Health, and UAMS. I’d like to personally thank UAMS’s Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Abuabdou, Center Administrator Megan Meckling, and PI’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Snider for their continued commitment and leadership. As 2023 comes to end end and we look forward to a new year, here are a few words from our COO, Tina Dunworth. Beatrice Seddon Laura Geer Adanna Ezimora
As we say goodbye to 2023, I want to reflect on what an amazing year it’s been for Proton International London and share our plans for the new year. In 2023, we made significant achievements by expanding our services and improving the comprehensiveness and accessibility of our care to a more diverse range of patients. We added prostate and lung cancers to the list of cancers that can now be treated with proton beam therapy (PBT), expanded the indications for head & neck cancers, and made great progress in the field of neuro-oncology, extending the age range for patients seeking PBT for neurological tumours. Our collaboration with insurers has played a crucial role in making this advanced treatment more widely accessible, allowing us to expand our impact. Proton International London has made a significant impact globally, and it brings me great joy to share our expertise with people from around the world. Seeing the strength and resilience shown by our patients and their families has deepened our sense of purpose and observing the positive impact of our treatments on children fills our team with motivation for 2024. In the new year, we will be introducing new indications, broadening our capabilities, and reaching important milestones in PBT. We are also eagerly looking forward to collaborating with additional consultant oncologists to enhance our expertise further and to enable more people who will benefit from PBT to access it. In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude to our partners at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, the consultants who work with us and my exceptional team at PIL, they have all worked?tirelessly to offer PBT to patients battling different types of cancer. Their commitment to excellence and innovation has been the driving force behind our accomplishments, and I couldn't be prouder of them. To the patients and their families who have entrusted us with their care, we are honoured to be part of your journey towards healing. Here's to a bright and transformative 2024!
