Raising Awareness for Brain Tumour Awareness Month: The Role of Proton Beam Therapy March is #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth, a time when people worldwide come together to highlight the realities of brain tumours—from recognising symptoms and early diagnosis to advocating for kinder, more effective treatments. In our latest video, Consultant Oncologist Dr Michael Kosmin discusses the benefits of proton beam therapy in treating brain cancer. This advanced treatment precisely targets tumours while minimising radiation exposure to healthy tissues and critical structures. This is especially crucial for tumours near sensitive areas like the brainstem, spinal cord, and optic nerve. With sub-millimetre accuracy, proton beam therapy can help reduce both acute and long-term side effects, improving patients' quality of life. About Proton International London With over 30 years of experience delivering proton beam therapy in the USA, Proton International, LLC brings world-class expertise to the UK. In partnership with University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we operate the UK’s only private proton beam therapy centre. According to The Brain Tumour Charity, more than 12,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year, making it the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children and adults under 40. Yet, treatment options have seen little progress in the past 40 years. That’s why we stand alongside thousands calling for a National Brain Tumour Strategy—to drive advancements in treatment and improve outcomes for those affected. At Proton International London, we are committed to delivering precise, protective, and powerful treatment for brain and spine cancer, offering patients access to cutting-edge technology and exceptional care. Together, let’s raise awareness and drive change. #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth #ProtonBeamTherapy #CancerCare #BrainCancerAwareness #Protontherapy

In light of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Dr James William Snider, III, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of Proton International, LLC and a world-renowned radiation oncologist, shares his expertise and insights on the treatment options available for men diagnosed with prostate cancer, including the potential benefits of proton beam therapy. It is important for men to understand the potential side effects of any treatment and how these may impact their quality of life after treatment. We encourage recently diagnosed patients to connect with others who have experienced prostate cancer and to thoroughly research their treatment options. #prostatecancerawarenessmonth #prostatecancer #protonbeamtherapy

Congrats to Proton Center of Arkansas on one year of bringing this life saving treatment to the patients of Arkansas and beyond!
It’s hard to believe that the Proton Center of Arkansas has already been open for a year. Dr. Bowers, my grandfather, was a proud member of the Arkansas medical establishment, so it’s particularly rewarding for me to have our team serve the same community now. There are so many people to acknowledge on this anniversary, but I want to start with our key partners: Arkansas Children’s, Baptist Health, and UAMS. I’d like to personally thank UAMS’s Chief Clinical Officer Dr. Abuabdou, Center Administrator Megan Meckling, and PI’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Snider for their continued commitment and leadership.
