PROTEUS-6G (Programmable Reconfigurable Optical Transport for Efficiently offering Unconstrained Services in 6G) aims to design and develop a dynamic, flexible, scalable, cost-effective, high-bandwidth, and low-latency packet-optical fronthaul and midhaul for 6G networks. This initiative is geared towards enabling the dynamic management of radio functional splits, facilitating the adaptation of 6G networks to varying environments, including changes in services and traffic. In this novel scenario, the 6G network adaptation involves both selecting the most appropriate functional split and reconfiguring the underlying packet-optical fronthaul and midhaul network. This ensures the provision of the required transport capacity and latency demanded by the selected centralization level.

The paper, titled "?????????????????????? ?????????? ???? ??????????????-?????????????????? ???????? ???? ???????????? ???????? ???? ?????????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ???? ???????????? ?????????????? ??????????????????", proposes an x-haul network architecture using SCM-ROADM. This architecture supports logical mesh interconnections of multiple RUs and provides a scalable solution for future 6G networks, achieving 1.2Tbps/λ. ?? We are thrilled to announce that Dan Marom from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem presented at the ???????? ???????????? ????????????????, showcasing our cutting-edge research on point-to-multipoint front-haul networks. This innovative work, part of the PROTEUS-6G project, focuses on providing shared access to edge sites while overcoming capacity and routing constraints. ?? Our spatially-diverse point-to-multipoint architecture introduces subcarrier-level rapid networking and spatial-feeder enhancements, significantly increasing capacity and networking flexibility. Central to this advancement is our four-port optical interlacer, which leverages Ring-Assisted Mach-Zehnder Interferometers (RAMZI) for sharp transitions at filter boundaries. Implemented using the silicon nitride technology platform with TriPleX? asymmetric double strip (ADS) waveguide design from our esteemed partner, LioniX International, this technology sets a new standard in optical networking. ?? We extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners, co-authors, and especially Dan Marom for his outstanding presentation.
